Plan Parenthood Initiating Voluntary Genocide?

A new documentary Maafa 21 has been made by Life Dynamics which reveals the genocide that plan parenthood has initiated. This film has given the parallels and connections between slavery and abortion. It shows haw the Planned Parenthood organization was founded by wealthy Americans who conspired to trim down the minority population. This documentary speaks to African-American women who are targeted to have abortions. 36% of all babies aborted are African-American. Mark Crutcher the writer and producer of the film, has shown the film twice in congress. He wants to unveil the true motive of P.P. agenda, not planning families; discouraging the growth of minority families.

Crutcher says "[Planned Parenthood] is every bit as racist as the Ku Klux Klan,
and what we need to start doing in this country is seeing that every time we
give a dollar to Planned Parenthood, that would be no different than if we gave
it to the Klan or some skinheads or some neo-Nazis.” One news now

Take a look at this documentary and help educate people about the agenda of P.P. and the movement to racial supremacy.

Boycott Jon & Kate plus Eight

Boycott Jon and Kate plus eight… Why is everyone asking about their divorce? Gossip is never virtuous; the intimate details of the Gosselin marriage are for them alone. What has happen to this family is a tragedy, and like all tragedies it should be treated with respect for the dignity of those hurt namely the children. My husband compared “Jon and Kate plus Eight” to the “Truman Show” a 1998 film in which Jim Carrey lives his entire life on television. In this film Truman (Jim Carrey) lives a fake reality every moment is filmed for the enjoyment of his audience and without his expressed consent. The children in the Gosselin family have been treated in the same way. The show began as an interesting look at the way a large family functions. How they manage the care of so many children, then like many other reality shows, things started to go south. The children began to be slowly exploited for the audience. Where was this going to end viewers wondered? At college and how many intimate details would be revealed at the expense of these poor children. 10.6 million viewers watched the episode of Jon and Kate plus Eight episode where Jon and Kate announced their divorce. This made J&K8 the most watched program for women 18-40; breaking all the shows past viewer records. US Weekly called the Gosselin divorce “Gold for TLC.” People have become so interested in this family now that it is experiencing problems, and ignore the fact that this is not a daytime soap where everyone goes home happy. These people live this day-in and day out; there is no happily ever after for these children. The more popularity that the show receives from the slander that is propagated true and untrue about their parents; the worse this situation becomes for the children. Christians must use their conscience when watching television and remember calumny is a sin. As people of God we are called to protect the innocent and safeguard ourselves from sin. Unhealthy interest in the divorce and personal sins of others can only lead one into sin. Scriptures reveal to us that the life of Christ as a child was hidden, and the lives of all children should be guarded as well. We as the Christian audience need to turn off J&K8; help the ratings go down so that these children can regain their dignity since their parents are too concerned about money and fame to do it themselves.

St. Paul was in the Tomb!

After Nineteen Centuries the tomb believed to hold the remains of St. Paul was opened! After careful carbon dating it is believed that the remains are infact from the first century. Tradition has held that the remains of St. Paul were there and now on the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul science has given us proof! God be praised! Asiaone News

White House To Launch Abortion Plan

The White House is claiming to have found “common ground” for liberals and conservatives; claiming that their new bill will lower the number of abortions. The bill is two parts, one part seeks to incorporate more early age sex education, and the other seeks to give women more contraceptives. This is not meeting in the middle or “common ground.” Liberals have claimed that with this new bill women who are low-income seeking abortions will be presented with other options for their unintended pregnancy. Conservatives support the abortion reducing part, but it is very doubtful that this will even reduce abortions. Passing out contraceptives and educating a younger group about sex will likely bring about the opposite affect. More abortions and promiscuity are likely to result, as chastity is not is not in the forefront of the Obama Sex-education plan. See more USNews

Pope's "Charity in Truth" IS COMING SOON!

The anticipation has been growing for the release of Pope Benedict XVI’s third encyclical. He has announced the title: "Caritas in veritate" - Charity in truth. This encyclical is going to address social issues. The timely release of this document will help the American people to understand the problems arising with legislation such as the Waxman-Markey Bill, and movements toward globalization. The Pope will give a wake-up call to the environmentalists who focus on endangered animal species and ignore the traumatic deaths of the unborn babies in abortion. Italian Reporter Gian Guido Vecchi of CNA has revealed some of the content in the upcoming encyclical.

It will pay attention to the “ecologic health of the planet,” but will remind
that “the duties we have to the environment are connected to the duties we have
toward the human person”, because “the first capital to be protected and
cherished is the human person in its integrity.” Says Vecchi

The Pope is going to ask accountability from everyone, not just officials. Not a mass tax to solve everything, rather he is calling the world to a mass movement to global responsibility. He is not asking for a one world government, and even wants to make this clear. People are to be truthful to themselves and to the world; loving one another to bring about a real social conscience.

"Without truth, without trust and love for what is truthful, there is no
conscience or social responsibility, and the social action falls under the
control of private interests or logics of power, with destructive effect on
society, even more on a society in way to globalization, in difficult moments
like the current ones,” the Pope will say in “Caritas in veritate,” according to
Vecchi

This new encyclical is planned to be released in Italian on July 6 or 7, of next month. Pray that the world will receive it with an open heart.

Bishops support tax contrary to the Pope

U.S. Bishops are passionately supporting the new Waxman-Markey bill; this bill claims to add only $140.00 per year to an average family. While in reality the bill will add new taxes of $1,900 a year for the average American family of four. Bishop Howard Hubbard was excited about the new tax despite the fact that the global warming bill does not seek to give protection to the poor and families who will carry the bulk of the tax. The Waxman-Markey Bill is
"the largest tax increase in American history."

The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 proposes a complicated series of schemes known as "cap and trade," ultimately imposing taxes on the carbon-dioxide emissions that are cited as a major factor in global warming. Even before the 1,200-page legislation was made available to Congress, the members of the House of Representatives received a letter from two leading representatives of the American Church, giving their strong endorsement for the bill. Catholic Culture

Pope Benedict XVI voiced his views on global warming in January of this year. He foresaw the waves of people panicking and tried to stop the mass hysteria. the Pope wanted to prevent legislation such as the Waxman-Markey Bill that employs scare tactics to hurt families.
Speaking to more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over
man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented
disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering. Daily Mail

It is upsetting that U.S. Bishops would support something that the Pope condemns and an added expense to families who are already struggling with the decline in the economy.

Boston Cardinal Works to Prevent Abortion

Boston Cardinal Sean O’Malley has taken a stand against the mass abortion movement in Massachusetts. Caritas Christi Healthcare has given up the CeltiCare Health Plan, because of the questionable conditions of forcing providers to offer abortions. The diocese of Boston is working to help protect life at all stages and deserves the support and admiration of all Catholic Americans.
American Life League has released this statement: "Praise God! After months of tireless effort from American Life League and pro-life heroes in Boston and around the country to expose a potential scandal only days away from becoming a tragic betrayal of Catholicism’s unwavering commitment to the dignity of the human person, Cardinal Sean O’Malley has heard our voices and will end the joint venture with abortion-providing Centene Corp!” Pew Sitter

Catholics Flee

Catholics are quickly diminishing in Bosnia; the Muslim population is growing so quickly that the once Catholic city of Sarajevo is now more properly thought a Muslim city. During the Bosnian conflict, many Catholics were killed or fled the country. Muslims are taking over the country in part because they have large families and the sizes of Catholic families are decreasing.
"Numerically, they have diminished a lot," he said after his visit at the invitation of Cardinal Vinko Puljic. There are only 17,000 Catholics in Sarajevo, he noted, a city of 600,000. "In the Diocese of Banja Luka, before the war between 1991 and 1995, there were 150,000 Catholics; now there are only 35,000." Zenit
Pray for the faithful in Bosnia that they might have a missionaries spirit and revive the faith in their country.

Help Your Self-Esteem

"From at least as far back as Norman Vincent Peale's The Power of Positive Thinking (1952), the media have advocated saying favorable things to oneself, the researchers wrote in a recent issue of the journal Psychological Science. At this moment, thousands of people across North America are probably silently repeating positive statements to themselves. But in one of their studies involving 32 male and 36 female psychology students, the researchers found that repeating the phrase did not improve the mood of those who had low self-esteem, as measured by a standard test. They actually ended up feeling worse, and the gap between those with high and low self-esteem widened. The findings did not change even if participants were instructed to focus on how the statement might be true about them, as they were in a second study involving 12 men and 39 women.” Inside Catholic
I found this really interesting, because I have believed this theory. Be supportive in negative situations in order to boost self-esteem. This study shows that the opposite is actually true. This brings to light that human beings are always searching for the truth, and if people do not believe that they posses intrinsic value no matter what they say to themselves this will not change. When someone wants to get a positive attitude they would be more likely to succeed by thinking about how much God loves them and values their life.

Obama Moved Against DOMA

(BP) “Calling it only ‘a start,’ President Obama signed a memorandum Wednesday giving homosexual partners of federal employees some of the benefits of married employees -- a move intended to appease the homosexual community but that ended up pleasing neither that constituency nor the other side of the same-sex debate.” The movement of President is no surprise as he is the most liberal president in history. He wishes to abolish any act to protect marriage and remove the power of the state. “The Defense of Marriage Act has two main parts -- one pertaining to the federal government and the other referencing the states. DOMA actually protects the right of states to determine social policy with respect to marriage," Byron Babione, an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund, a legal group which opposes "gay marriage," told BP "it allows states the freedom to protect marriage between a man and a woman and not to have the same-sex marriages of other states imposed upon them. … Repealing DOMA actually does the opposite of protecting states' rights. … Repealing of DOMA also would do untold damage to the benefits that marriage brings to society. It would open the way to defining marriage and its value out of existence.” The Christians groups are rallying together to fight changes made to the rights of married people, and more effort needs to be made to stop President Obama from relinquishing state’s rights.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Devotion was started by early Christian and is based on scriptural references to the heart of Mary. ‘She pondered these things in her heart’ and ‘a sword shall pierce your heart.’ St. Augustine said “she cooperated through charity… "in the work of our redemption". During WWII Pope Pius XII dedicated the whole world to the immaculate Heart. This was done in direct response to the apparitions at Fatima where our Lady appeared and asked for consecration to her heart. Pius XII instituted today's feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the whole Church, so as to obtain by her intercession "peace among nations, freedom for the Church, the conversion of sinners, the love of purity and the practice of virtue" (Decree of May 4, 1944). We celebrate this feast with joy and gratitude for the sacrifices that our Lady made with Jesus on the cross.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Pray For Us!

Devotion to The Sacred Heart of Jesus

Blessed be the Most Loving Heart and Sweet Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the most glorious Virgin Mary, His Mother, in eternity and forever. Amen.
....Only the Heart of Christ who knows the depths of his Father's love could reveal to us the abyss of his mercy in so simple and beautiful a way ----From the Catechism. P:1439
From the depth of my nothingness, I prostrate myself before Thee, O Most Sacred, Divine and Adorable Heart of Jesus, to pay Thee all the homage of love, praise and adoration in my power.Amen. - - St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
The prayer of the Church venerates and honors the Heart of Jesus just as it invokes his most holy name. It adores the incarnate Word and his Heart which, out of love for men, he allowed to be pierced by our sins. Christian prayer loves to follow the way of the cross in the Savior's steps.-- From the Catechism. P: 2669 EWTN

Pray to resist Temptation

St. Romuald, was born in 956. His early life was spent in enjoyment of the world. His father forced him to fight a duel, and he had to kill his opponent and this upset him so much that he went to a monastery for forty days. Romuald stayed in the monastery. He became an abbot and later founded many houses in Tuscany. His whole life was spent in prayer to fight his great temptations. Many people tried to martyr him, but God save him. We can pray to Romuald to help us resist temptation in our lives.

St. Romuald pray for us!

UN To Promote Hedonism

The UN Council has proposed to promote ‘early childhood comprehensive sexual education,’ in an effort to fight HIV in developing countries. The theory that teaching children at younger age about sex and giving them a more detailed understanding of contraceptives is going to keep them from having what they call ‘unsafe sex.’ The UN is not encouraging the proper place for sex in marriage and abstinence rather they hope to definie it as an act of pleasure giving rise to a younger culture of hedonism. The UN is not a promoter of family and supporting abstinence; Fr. Thomas J. Euteneur said to CNA: “Condom promotion has not stopped HIV in the developing world. And propagandizing young children about a value-neutral approach to sex, and telling them that they'll be safe if they use condoms is exactly how you get them to start practicing sex before marriage. This outrage is perpetrated by pagans forcing their hedonistic values on the families of the only Catholic continent in the world. It is a violation of sovereignty of nations and of the rights of parents to teach their kids on these delicate matters,” he said. Fr. Euteneur, noted that a 1995 Vatican document called The Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality has condemned this type of sex education, said children’s innocence is too precious of a gift to throw away in deference to government and its coercive modern amorality.” People have to realize that children are form the hand of God and it is their innocence that Christ speaks of in the Gospel and we need to protect it as much as we can.

PBS Bans Religion

Barney may teach your children please and thank you, but he can’t say the blessing. “In Arlington, Va., The members of PBS’ national board have voted to ban any new religious programming from their affiliate stations, citing both concerns about “public trust” and a 25-year-old rule that has never been rigorously enforced. Anticipation of the vote already resulted in one station cancelling its Mass for Shut-Ins.” - EWTN News This network claims that current stations may keep programs that already exist; but may not add any further religious programming. PBS has always had a silent no religion policy, but now it is become loud. Liberal news agendas and atheists programming will remain. They are trying to weed out the good by hoping that it will die out and prohibit replacing the programming if canceled.

Naturally Pro-Life

A Woman gives birth to sextuplets and calls them "A gift from God." She concieved them naturally, without any conception drugs or fertility treaments. Many doctors urged her to abort the weaker babied and she protected them. Natural sextuplets occur once in 4.5 million pregnancies. This mother is an amazing example of God giving you the opportunity to be an example of life to those around you. Her example is a gift to the world, just as she called her babies a gift from God. A saint Dedicated to Educating the Poor

St. Emily de Vialar, is the founder of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition. Emily was the only child of Baron James Augustine de Vialar. When she was fifteen her father decided to keep her home to be his companion and find her a husband; but Emily did not agree with her father’s decision for her to marry. For fifteen years Emily cared for the poor, neglected children, and shared her estate with them. She and three friends took an estate and were given permission to take a religious habit. She personally opened more than forty homes and took it as her mission to educate children. Emily’s favorite testament was “Love One Another,” which she did as saw Christ in all around her and loved the poor.

Cardinal of Vienna Presents, Not Necesarrily Supports

“In the Vatican, Card. Schönborn also presented the so-called "Initiative of the lay faithful" (Laieninitiative), a petition by relevant Austrian Catholics launched earlier this year, which asks for the abolition of compulsory celibacy, the return to activity of married priests, the opening of the diaconate to women, and the ordination of [married] 'viri probati'.” -ASCA

People are heralding that Card. Schönborn is supporting married priesthood and women in the deaconate, but this is very unclear. The Vatican news has only revealed that at the urging of the Austrian people Card. Schönborn has presented the ‘Initiative of the lay faithful.’ This really opens the question: should there be a married priesthood as in the Byzantine Rite? Is the vocation of the priesthood able to be carried out properly by a man with a family? One must look at the position of a pastor as the Father of His parish or in a monastery in the monastic life; their lives are dedicated to God fully. The byzantine rite allows priests to be married, and they are dedicated to God. I do not have an answer to this question, are byzantine priests who are married less devoted than those who are solely devoted to God. I look to the wisdom of the Vatican and the insight of priests who have more insight into these questions; furthermore it is interesting that this petition was brought by the lay people and not a collective effort of the clergy. Does this reveal who would like a married priesthood? Women’s ordination is another question, ordinations have been exclusively male, and would this change hurt the natural order and nature of the clergy? I am sure these are all questions that are going to addressed by the Vatican.

Have You Hugged A Priest Today?

This year 2009-2010 is the year of Priests, Cardinal Claudio Hummes said that: “Each and every one of the world's 408,000 priests should feel loved, respected, valued and supported in his vocation to bring the Gospel to an increasingly secular -- but still open – world,” CNS. So many priests in our society have been blamed for crimes that they have never committed. We as lay people are obliged to help the pastor care for the church. This can be compared to doing chores at home. The house belongs to everyone, everyone is cared for there. The church is the people and the building is where the people are feed by God. It is not just the pastor’s responsibility to care for everything. Cardinal Hummes said “that showing support for priests includes sharing responsibility with them for parish life and for mission. Sometimes laypeople help their priests, but think that if things don't go well, it's the priest's responsibility -- it's his church. But, no, the church is all of ours.” A parishioner taking responsibility for a ministry: Religious education, Youth Ministry, RCIA, Altar Society, or even Nursery is a good way to give the church family support and take an active role in the parish community. Also taking an interest in the financial stability of your parish, it is not just the pastor’s job to balance the books, it is the people’s obligation to tithe and provide the means to support themselves, because they are the church. This year is a great opportunity for Catholics everywhere to take a step back and appreciate all the sacrifices that priests make in order to care for their souls. God has given priests the task of caring for the spiritual life of the faith community, but He never said that they are to do it alone. Rather Jesus called us all “The mystical body of Christ,” so helping each other should come naturally. Furthermore if we want to fully realize ourselves as members of the Church we must truly love one another as Jesus taught us and this year gives us the chance to do this in our own community. Answer Cardinal Hummes’ request, love the priests in your life as Christ told us to.

St. Alice; A Child Saint

St. Alice was only seven years old when she felt the call to enter the Cistercian Convent. Shortly after she entered Alice contracted Leprosy and was confined. She suffered great agony and eventually became paralyzed and blind. Through all of her sufferings Alice received the Eucharist, under one species. Jesus appeared to her and reassured her that she received the fullness of the Eucharist without receiving from the cup. Alice was known for her visions. In a world filled with suffering we must trust in our Lord in the Eucharist as Alice did to give us strength and hope in the Life to come.

Montessori Home School Supplies

I am very interested in the Montessori approach to homeschooling, particularly for younger ones and I came across this store online: By Way of the Family; and was very impressed. The store sells a variety of home school and preschool supplies: Toys Worth Buying, phonics matrials, and supplies to form a school zone. This is a great place to start homeschooling, or purchase more supplies. It even offers a program like girl scouts dedicated to St. Theresa of the Little Flower for girls. The store is located in Ave Maria, Florida and I hope to visit soon.

We Need Evangelization

There are 68,115,001 Catholics in the United States, making up 22 percent of the U.S. population, according to the Kenedy Directory the overall number of Catholics has gone up by one million from 2007 to 2008. The number of Catholics increased, but the number of people recieving sacraments particularly baptism and matrimony declined. Also the number of conversions declined by 9%. This is a clear message that we Catholics need to get out and evangelize. We need to help show our fellow Catholics the importance of the faith.

Saint with an Eye for the Soul

St. John of Sahagun was educated by the Benedictine monks of Leon, Spain. He was ordained a priest in 1445. He went to the University of Salamanca. He was a profound preacher and spoke out against pluralism. After undergoing a serious surgery John became an Augustinian monk. He had a reputation for reading men’s souls and performing miracles. He was not afraid to denounce evil in high places and for this he was martyred.

Keep kids off Drugs and Gay?

President Obama has chosen a leader for the war on drugs in the public school system, but the man for the job has a hidden agenda. Kevin Jennings is now the assistant deputy secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools inside the Department of Education, but his primary goal in the past has been promoting the homosexualist agenda to schoolchildren. Jennings is the cofounder and executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN); this organization has been working to start indoctrinating children in the homosexual agenda at the kindergarten level. The GLSEN organization’s goal according to Stephan Glassman is “I don’t want to be tolerated. I don’t want to be put up with. I want to be ... celebrated,” he wants the homosexual lifestyle to be praised by children. Kevin Jennings reputation of homosexual kindergarten promoter makes him an odd choice for the Safe and Drug-Free School guy. Many believe that this is just a ploy to get him into the school system and then he will use his own agenda. If you have personal issues with this choice for the American public school system you can contact you congressman or Arne Duncan, Education Secretary Email: mailto:arne.duncan@ed.gov;Phone: (202) 401-3000. Friendship For a better Relationship

Anthony Buono, married with seven children; is the founder and president of Ave Maria Singles and Road to Cana . He has some great insight on the importance of married couples (particularly women) having a good supply of friends of their own sex to share in different ways to better their relationship with their spouse. Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus is not to far off according to Buono. He wants to help men and women realize how their differences are not bad and couples do not have to share every waking second. He urges: "Women must not put so much pressure on a man to be a conversational friend they need. Men do need to talk more to women. Women need to have conversation. They need to know what’s going on inside. Many times a man does not even know himself enough inside to share himself. Women must be patient about that. Typically, women find this in another woman. That’s why there are so many happy marriages where each spouse has their same-sex friends. These friendships outside the couple enhance the person and make them better spouses to each other. Don't give up on a good man who defines who he is by his actions. Just because he does not talk as much as you would like does not mean he would not make a good husband and father. Make sure you have friends who make you a better person, and take that betterment and bring it faithfully into dating and marital friendship. "

The Faith of a Child

In Park Heights, MD; Erica Nelson a sixth grader, from St. Ambrose Catholic School, challenges youth to really live their faith. She was quoted in the Catholic Review saying “I can do more than just say Amen; I can put my words into practice.” It is amazing that this young girl is personally responsible for five conversions just this year. She is known as the school and church missionary. When asked about how she asked people to come to church she responded: “I felt like I could do it again and invite some more people,” and with a wide smile said “I love this church.” It is amazing to hear of children living their faith with out fear or hesitation. When Jesus said to have the faith of the little ones He was talking about kids like Erica who has faith beyond her years.

Abortions in Catholic Hospitals

Massachusetts has given a bid which joins Caritas Christi Healthcare system with Centene Corporation. This movement will cause six Catholic hospitals in the Archdiocese of Boston to promote abortions.
"Four officials of Caritas Christi serve on the board of a health maintenance organization (jointly founded by Caritas and its partner Celtic Group) which will refer women to Planned Parenthood for taxpayer funded abortions, as part of a government program which requires abortion coverage,". Life News.
It is very upsetting that the Archdiocese of Boston is not doing more to deter abortion.

Legal Polygamy?

So gay marriage is not enough, now we need multiple spouses. According to World Net Polygamists claim the right to extend the liberal legislation to legally have multiple partners. The more rights we give legislators to "define" marriage, the more definitions they will form that conservatives will not want.

The Solemnity of the Blessed Trinity

Trinity Sunday is the first Sunday after Pentecost. We are celebrating the greatness of the blessed Trinity and the joy of the mystery that brought about our existence. It is the amazing truth that three distinct persons can truly be one God, having in himself all perfections. The Blessed Trinity is the heart of the faith and the Life of the Trinity animates the Church by the Holy Spirit who flows through the faithful. As Christians we imitate this great mystery in our daily life by truly loving God and giving His love to others. The Love of God the Father and the Son is the Holy Spirit, and the Blessed Trinity constantly and perfectly loves all creation. This love gives all people who ask the Life of God to animate their soul. Today we celebrate the Blessed Trinity and we thank God for giving us His Life through this great mystery.

Say Good-Bye to the Jumper

When I was a kid I thought that moms came standard in denim jumper dress. I was home schooled as a child and my mother would take us to home schooling support groups where dozens of mothers all sporting the sensible denim jumper would congregate. I was always entertained by the toddlers who would wander aimlessly through the forest of denim hoping to find their mothers and frequently grabbing the wrong skirt. The denim wearing moms in the group would compliment each other on the choice of under shirt with their jumper, and discuss the comfort of the loose fitting dresses. As a teenager I hoped that I would never be fooled into wearing these fashion blunders, I know that modesty is important and practicality is key; but whatever happened to style and beauty?
Fashion, a taboo word in the conservative Catholic community; but one must ask why? Dressing well and stylishly is not sinful. Many people avoid fashion altogether for fear of seeing an immodest image or being immodest themselves. Women in particular do not want to provoke temptation in the opposite sex so they will retreat to the bag-like fit of the denim jumper. Women should not be scared to dress attractively, do their hair, and wear makeup. Fashion can be modest and appropriate. Modern cap sleeve sweaters, mid-length skirts, and attractive accessories are easy ways to dress stylishly and modestly. Taking modern styles and making them modest is a good way to show that fashion does not have to be immodest or vulgar.

St. Norbert 1080 A.D.

St. Norbert was born to a German noble family he loved the things of the world, but when he was riding on his horse he was struck by lightning. He had a conversion and became a priest. He gave everything he had to the poor and opened abbeys. He was made an archbishop at age 53. Norbert did a lot of work to heal the church in this time. He worked to identify the true Pope in controversy and obtained Church support from the emperor.

Kids In Mass

Since the birth of my daughter three years ago I have been hit with the question “to bring or not to bring?” I have two children, and they are typically kids. They get restless during mass and need stimulation. I try to bring gear to entertain them in the pew quietly so that we can attend mass as a family. I get a very mixed response to this approach to parenting. Some people hold that kids should not be in mass at all. Recently I read an article by Kate Wicker Inside Catholic about the subject. She talked about the good of bringing kids to church regularly and not worrying about the baby sounds. She quoted Pope Benedict XVI:
Pope Benedict XVI urges parents to make Sunday Mass a family affair. "Parents are called to make their children discover the value and importance of the response to Christ's invitation, who calls the whole Christian family to Sunday Mass," the pope said to a crowd in St. Peter's Square on June 13, 2005.
I believe that taking your children to mass, restaurants, plays, etc. is good for the children. My daughter get restless, but we take time to entertain her and each week she is able to sit a little longer before becoming too distracted. I hope that this trend will continue until she is able to sit attentively through the entire mass. I have seen the benefits of starting her in mass young, and I understand that if she doesn’t learn to sit now I will be teaching her at a latter age and she will be more set in her ways.

US Legislature Cannot Alter Marriage

No matter how many legislators try to invent “same-sex marriage” they cannot. Marriage is a sacrament; it is instituted by God and under the Catholic Church not the United States Legislature. Marriage is a sacrament that is validated by the consent of the man and woman in the presence of God. No matter how many states legalize “so-called same-sex marriage;” they cannot validate it in the eyes of God. These legislators may give these couples tax breaks, and work benefits; but only God can bestow the graces of holy matrimony. Anything less than a sacramental marriage just is not a marriage. You can call “same-sex-marriage” whatever you want, but it will not magically change into a real sacramental marriage. This is not in the power of the legislature.

Saint of the Day: Charles Lawanga & Companions

Charles Lwanga is an amazing example of faith and is the patron of youth today. He and his twenty-two companions were martyred for not submitting to the homosexual demands of their leader. Charles defended his companions to the death and stands as a model of purity for youth.

Praying for Our Kids

I really like this prayer for Moms, it gets down to the nitty gritty of being a Mom. It is a wonderful vocation and God will help Moms carry their cross. Don't hesitate to ask! I bought my mother (mom of 7) a plaque "Dear Lord Grant me the patience to endure my blessings." Every child is a blessing, I have two and I love both of them more than I could have imagined, and because I care so much I want them to have a great life and I need God's help with this vocation. http://catholicexchange.com/2009/06/04/119184/

Don't Be Fooled by Angels & Demons

Angels and Demons, is an attempt by the secular media to invite the quasi-spiritual community with this religious sounding title; but this movie is less than religious. Ron Howard director, and leading actor Tom Hanks (from the Da Vinci Code) take the movie going into a web of lies and heresy. This anti-catholic film is one of the biggest box office events of the summer. Catholics, do yourself a favor and forgo this display of ignorance of the Catholic faith.

Take Back Confession

The Catholic Church has been helping sinners see the light in confession since the first disciples were commissioned by Christ to forgive sins. Confession is intended by Christ for the forgiveness of sins. In more recent times the line that divides good and evil has become hazy for many of the faithful. People have come to think of the Confessional as a free counseling session with the confessor rather than a sacrament through which Christ forgives sins.
I personally have experienced many styles of confessors, from the very talkative and lenient to the stern and highly penitential. On occasion I encounter a priest that is so accustomed to the typical counseling style confession that they disregard my sins altogether. In my experiences with people in line for the sacrament of confession I have come across people who really need of psychological therapy but are using confession as an alternative. Many people who suffer from anxieties, addictions, etc. experience repression of their suffering by confessing them; but the problem arises that the person is not addressing the actual problem. Spiritual growth is a great way to help move away from problems, but is not the sole answer. Healing of the mind should accompany the healing of the soul to really cure the person.
The Vatican has issued a statement recognizing that faithful are confusing the confessional with the “therapist’s couch”.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jun/03/confession-vatican-catholics-therapy-sin Handbooks are going to be given to priest to help them retake the confessional in an effort to save the sacramental life of reconciliation and help the faithful to seek healing for the soul in its proper place. This movement of confession back to the care of the spirit will leave the counseling of the mind for the psychiatrists and psychologists.
I challenge people who are going to confession; when confessing sins, to just confess; point blank, not a long story and scenario. If priests are going to regain the control over the confessional and stop the large number of people attending their ‘free therapy sessions.’ We as the faithful need to be supportive and go into the confessional prepared. Examine your conscience; think about it ahead of time. Going to confession involves thought process. Explain what you did, and how many times you did it. As the faithful we will remind priests of the difference between being a confessor and a therapist.
